Gearing up for School!
Gearing up for School!

Please make sure that your child comes properly equipped for school.  Make sure that all of your child's belongings such as water bottles and lunch bags have their names written on them.  Don't forget to remind your child to bring home their jackets and sweaters.  We are finding so many clothing articles being left behind on our playground, cafeteria, and even the classrooms.

Daniel Chu

Welcome to First Grade. This is going to be an exciting 2020-2021 school year.  This is going to be a new adventure for many of us as we start our distance learning.  There will be many things to explore and new discoveries to uncover.  I am looking forward to working with all of you.

WRITING RESOURCES

Below are various writing maps that are used in the classroom. The narrative map is used to tell a personal story in sequence. The opinion writing map is used to write what the student thinks or feels about a story or subject using text evidence or reasons. The informative writing map was to be used this last trimester. Students can write about a topic or subject with facts. A list of writing topics for each genre is below also. The Story Elements Graphic Organizer can be used to map out a story with character, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle, and end. I have also added writing paper with an illustration box. Please feel free to print out so students can practice writing at home.
