Dear Wedgeworth Families,

Hello, Wedgeworth PRIDE Warriors! Another incredible year is coming to a close.  It has been a productive and successful year for our school. Through the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and strong partnership with our supportive parents, we were able to receive various recognitions and awards honoring our student achievements.

Wedgeworth, we are now a National Blue Ribbon school!  With that, we also received the California Civic Learning Merit award.  I am extremely proud of our students.  I can truly say, we have the best students here at Wedgeworth.

This year has been full of hard work and has been a massive learning experience for all of us.  We have launched our new Computer Science Immersion Program partnered with the Code to the Future to provide computer science to our students in grades K-5.  From this new learning, students learn to develop and acquire the global competences and 21st century skills to thrive and excel.

Parents, it has been my pleasure getting to know not only your child, but you as well.  Having your support and open lines of communication is an essential part of any successful schools. Thank you for all you have done to make our year so fulfilling and memorable.

To our fifth grade students who are preparing to embark on a new journey into middle school, I want to share with you couple quotes: “I think I can. I know I can!”  Everything that you do or don’t do comes down to confidence.  Always believe in yourself even when it’s not easy. Malcolm X quotes, “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for today.”  Through education, not only you can use to change the world, but also opens up endless opportunities.  Believe in yourself and always remember P.R.I.D.E.

To all of our Wedgeworth PRIDE students, I encourage you to work hard in school, set goals for your life, and stay focused on those goals.  Keep your eyes on your goals, and don’t let anyone or anything deter you from achieving them.  Sky is the limit!  Don’t be afraid to fail. Through these experiences, you learn to grow and improve.

We at Wedgeworth, students learn today to lead tomorrow…

Staff, students, and families, thank you for a successful year. I hope you have a fantastic summer!

With the Highest Regards,

Paulina Cho, Principal
